How it works

From request to team calendar in three steps.

  1. Request

Pick the type and dates, or a half day if needed. teim immediately flags overlaps with planned shifts or absent colleagues.

  2. Approve

Managers see their team’s open requests and approve or reject them with one click. Approved requests can be cancelled.

  3. Plan

Approved absences appear in the team calendar. teim deducts them from the balance and accounts for them in target hours and shifts.

FAQ

Questions about the leave planner

How many days of holiday do employees get in Switzerland?

At least 4 weeks per year of service, and 5 weeks up to the age of 20 (Art. 329a CO). With a 5-day week, that is 20 or 25 days. Employment contracts or collective agreements may grant more.

How does teim calculate leave for part-time staff?

teim calculates the entitlement pro rata by employment level and, in the first year, by start month. Carry-over from the previous year and approved days feed into the balance and forecast.

Can employees request half a day off?

Yes. For a single day, choose morning or afternoon. Requests covering several days always count as full days.

Which public holidays does teim include?

teim knows the public holidays of all 26 cantons and factors them into target hours. Under federal law, only 1 August is treated like a Sunday; the cantons set the others.

What happens if someone with a planned shift requests leave?

teim warns during the request that the person is scheduled for a shift. Once the leave is approved, they can no longer be assigned to shifts on those days. Shift planning
